Testing
In SFMA, all students are required to wear the sashes they’ve been given or earned. All new students will receive a white sash to go with their attire once their registration is complete.
Our ranking system is issued by different colored fringes (attached to the end of a sash) to enroll in our grading system you are required to do different testings. The first test for students to officially enroll in the ranking system will be to test for their Red Sash, this Sash they will keep all the way to the Black Sash. When students reach Black Sash, they are acquired to assist in class as it is part of their next progression in the system.
Each color fringe represents a different level. The steps leading to the next fringe color/level, is represented with stripes on the sash. This is incorporated for students to see their own progression and have more control over their progressions. Stripes are earned during class and students don’t need to test for them. Once students have earned all the required stripes, then they are ready to test for their next level.
All testings are only made by appointment (students are responsible to request themself for a testing) and are to be paid in cash put into a red envelope. Testings will start by lightening 3 incense sticks for Chan Heung and the red envelop given to the altar, students are required to wear their uniform and current Sash with Fringe. All family members are welcome to join this testing.
